Description
P.I. Pete Ingalls is up to his baby blues inside the world of children’s television. Sound adorable? Don’t kid yourself. As Ingalls and his fast-talking, fast-thinking hottie assistant, Stephanie Constantino, discover, a preschool show such as Playground Pals looks cute and education on the tube, but in the studio, it’s a snake pit of intrigue and double-dealing where money and ambition collide.
The setup: A DVD of dirty outtakes – that is, the puppet characters of Playground Pals saying and doing obscene things – falls into the hands of bad guys. The bad guys blackmail the producers. The producers hire Ingalls. Ingalls suspects everybody. Incompetence and hilarity ensue. Oh, and a person ends up dead.
Now Pete must foil the blackmailers and solve the murder – before the killer decides to cut his strings next…
