When Noa Ben Artzi-Pelossof spoke at the funeral of her grandfather Yitzhak Rabin, she touched the world’s heart. She does so again, in this deeply moving memoir and plea for peace.
A stirring voice from yet another Israeli generation living in turmoil and in danger, Noa, at age nineteen, reflects on her life to date: a childhood scarred by tragedy and rescued by her family’s love; a constant fear-fed by random bombingsfor the lives of relatives and friends; the chaotic impact of war-Lebanon, the Intifada, the Gulf war; the hate from outside, and now from within, Israel. Noa talks of her grandfather’s assassin and the extremists who nourished his violence.
She shares her precious memories of her grandfather, with whom she lived until the age of six and to whom she remained close for the rest of his life. She offers insights into his transformation from soldier to leader to peacemaker, his courageous determination to change the course of the Middle East conflict, and the steps he took in search of a lasting peace for future generations of Israelis. Noa speaks to him, and to the world.
A book that is pure, passionate and unfailingly honest-and goes straight to the heart.

THE CHRONICLES OF THOMAS COVENANT (3 Volumes)

LORD FOUL’S BANE

THE ONE TREE

WHITE GOLD WIELDER

(WHITE GOLD WIELDER was personally signed by Stephen R. Donaldson and is a first edition thus in Fontana — 1983)

STEPHEN DONALDSON made his publishing debut
with the three volumes of The Chronicles of Thomas
Covenant, The Unbeliever. They were bestsellers in
Britain and America and praised as the ‘best novel
of the year’ by the British Fantasy Society. Stephen
Donaldson was given the John W. Campbell award
(as best new writer) by the 1979 British Science
Fiction Convention.

Donaldson was born in 1947 in Cleveland, Ohio.
From ages three to sixteen, he lived in India, where
his father, an orthopaedic surgeon, worked exten-
sively with lepers; it was after hearing one of his
father’s speeches on the subject of leprosy that he
conceived the character of Thomas Covenant. He
graduated from the College of Wooster (Ohio) in
1968, served two years as a conscientious objector
doing hospital work in Akron, then attended Kent
State University, where he received his M.A. in
English in 1971. He now lives in New Mexico.

White Gold Wielder is the final volume in Step hen
Donaldson’s trilogy, The Second Chronicles of
Thomas Covenant.

3 volume set. Note that WHITE GOLD WIELDER is personally signed by Stephen R. Donaldson.

Upper right corner of cover missing on WHITE GOLD WIELDER and minor damage to the page corners (upper right) following on pages 1-18. Minor light foxing to all three books. Some creasing in places on covers but not excessive. Not in perfect condition but priced accordingly. Settle down for a good read!!

In one cataclysmic moment, millions around the globe disappear.

Vehicles, suddenly unmanned, careen out of control. People are terror stricken as loved ones vanish before their eyes.

In the midst of global chaos, airline captain Rayford Steele must search for his family, for answers, for truth. As devastating as the disappearances have been, the darkest days may life ahead.

Praise for Left Behind:

“One of the best books I’ve read in ten years!”
–Mark Blocher, Grand Rapids

“1 couldn’t stop reading it. I became so involved with the
characters I forgot I wasn’t there with them.”
–Ann Denison, Fort Lauderdale

“I predict Left Behind will soar to the top of the best-seller
lists. I’m telling everybody about it.”
–Nancy Bayless, San Diego

“I’ve long been a fan of Jerry Jenkins’s fiction and an
admirer of Tim LaHaye’s mind. This novel combines the
best of both. A gripping story.”
–Dr. Joseph M. Stowell, Chicago

“What a great story! I really enjoyed the character develop-
ment and felt I had made some new and personal friends.”
–Ray Bentley, San Diego

“A fictional thriller that illustrates one of the great truths of
the Bible. You will have a difficult time putting it down.”
–Sammy Tippit, San Antonio

“Many scenes in this book could easily be the lead stories
in tomorrow’s news. Fascinating fiction.”
–Charles C. Ryrie, Th.D., Ph.D., Dallas

“The main features of this story are not fiction. Those not
prepared will be left behind. This book describes the dra-
matic days ahead. Here is a book that demands to be read.”
–Dr. John F. Walvoord, Dallas

“Have you fallen into the Messiah Trap? Are
you giving but never receiving, obeying but
never questioning, listening but never being
heard? The Messiah Trap allows no time for
personal pursuits, solitude, or fun. People
who fall into the Messiah Trap no longer have
the word no in their vocabularies. They feel
compelled to answer every call for help.”

Many of us attend church regularly and participate in
a variety of church committees, classes, and volunteer
tasks in addition to our responsibilities at home, to our
families, and to our employers. Feeling that there just
aren’t enough hours in the day, we may fall behind on
projects, let friends and family down, or become too
physically exhausted to accomplish anything at all.
If this happens, we’re apt to feel guilty, inadequate,
ashamed, or angry.

Loving Yourself as Your Neighbor explores this
destructive cycle of codependent behavior and
highlights the necessity of healthy self-love for balanced
Christian service. Building on Carmen Renee Berry’s
groundbreaking When Helping You Is Hurting Me
and combining case studies with sound theology and
psychology, the authors remind us that though the
Christian life is indeed one of service, there is a differ-
ence between the spiral of service based on love and
the cycfe of burnout experienced by the Christian caught
in the Messiah trap.

Berry and Taylor expose the unhealthy beliefs and
faulty assumptions tliat foster self-hate and addictive
helping — “If I don’t do it, it won’t get done”; “Every-
one else’s needs take priority over mine” and demon-
strate how Jesus’ teachings regarding self-denial and
self-sacrifice have been misinterpreted. With compassion
and empathy, they remind us that although the true
Messiah, Jesus Christ, saved humanity through self-
sacrifice, many of us confuse our calling to be “Christ-
like” with playing god in other people’s lives.

Our attempts to ‘save” the world imply that no one, not
even God, can do what we can do for others. We must
realize that trying to earn our worth is impossible and
unnecessary, for “God loves us as we are.”
Answer the question “Why am I so miserable
when I’m trying to do everything right?” Loving
Yourself as Your Neighbor gently guides us through
the steps toward believing fundamental self-love and
helps us to accept the love of those around us through
an accurate understanding and experience of God’s love
for us. The authors assure us that the Church can be
a community of love which enables us to be there for
ourselves as well as for others so that we can serve
and survive.

Hardcover. 144 pages. In very good preloved condition with the exception of a previous owner’s name, some handwritten notes neatly written inside on the back page of the book, and a carefully applied mylar cover held in place with tape (not ex-library as far as we can tell — just a previous owners handiwork).
