Description
He thought it was going to be an ordinary morning…
Sam and his little brother Charlie wake up one day to find that their parents have sold everything: house, cars, furniture, even most of their toys! Before they know it, the boys have left their home in the Yukon and are living on a forty-foot sailboat – destination, New Zealand.
Sam soon discovers there is more to sailing than he imagined. He must follow the skipper’s orders, learn basic sailing and navigation skills, take his turn at “watch” and endure seasickness, terrifying storms and even weeks without a breath of wind. But he and Charlie also experience the joys of “island hopping” in the South Pacific, where they mix with different cultures and make lasting friendships.
And, in the end, Sam and Charlie must decide. Will the family return to Canada or continue to sail the Pacific?
