Description
By way of text and picture, this book will tell something, but by no means all, of the story of The First Family in the land during the year just ending (November 1949-August 1950).
The diary sections seek to present a wide variety of events rather than attempt to record day-to-day happenings. Such engagements as annually recur and were described by the author in his last year’s Royal Cavalcade are among those which have not been included here.
For His Majesty the King, in the year following his illness and operation, these have again been full and busy days. At his side, the Queen has shared many of these high duties, besides carrying out her own separate and numerous engagements. For Princess Elizabeth it has been a year blessed with great happiness; and for Princess Margaret, the Royal apprentice in these matters, her heaviest year of public duties so far.
Hardcover, 128 pages. In very good pre-loved condition with the exception of some minor age discoloration inside front cover, and a name on the title page. No dustcover.
