Rosemary Ireson Davies has an exceptional knowledge of gardening and landscaping. She has a Diploma of Horticultural Science and a Diploma of Technical
Teaching and has had training in floristry. She was one of the original members of the Victorian Department of Agriculture’s Garden Advisory Service, has been the only woman and the youngest member on the ABC’s 3LO radio gardening panel since 1978, was a regular gardening correspondent for the Age, and writes on gardening for the Melbourne Sun and Prime Time. She is currently employed as gardening writer on Australia’s leading gardening magazine, Your Garden. Rosemary is co-outhor of Gardene(s Forum published by the ABC in 1984 and was a major contributor to The Age of Gardening, a selection of articles first published in the Age’s gardening columns. She has taught apprentice gardeners, been involved in country radio programmes, instructed at adult· education and correspondence courses serving Australia and neighbouring countries and given many lectures. Her travels have given her a good understanding of the vast range of conditions gardeners have to contend with. As one of the few women in a man’s profession and as one of the younger generation Rosemary has a unique contribution to make to our pleasure and skill in gardening. Her love of plants and enjoyment of her garden are such an important part of her life that,as an horticultural consultant. she would like to take the ‘worry’ out of gardening and share her pleasure with others.
